Hello! When I announced my retirement last spring, I asked for your ideas on the future of Busy Bee Kindergarten and how to make it even better for all of you. Many of you requested a “math curriculum” because so far Busy Bee Kindergarten has mostly been about literacy and the science of reading. Since I’ll have more time on my hands—not much though because I’ve already got several part-time things going on—I do believe that supporting you more in math is a great idea and a real possibility.

I am just starting the “math curriculum” and hope to have the bones of it and the month of August and September in place for you before you head back to school. In the meantime, I invite you to take a look at this post from the past called Math by the Month. It provides very effective and engaging five-minute daily math activities that change every month. These will definitely be a part of the year-long math plan I put together for you. I think it’ll get you thinking about your daily math activities and help you plan as you start the new year.
