"Matot & Ma'asei - Tribes & Journey" - July 30, 2022

Listen Later

Double Torah Portion "מטות/Matot" which means "Tribes" and "מסעי/Ma'asei" which means "Journey," delivered on July 30, 2022.This week's portions cover Numbers/Bemidbar 30:2-36:13, and begins, "Then Moshe spoke to the heads of the tribes of the people of Isra’el. He said, 'Here is what Adonai has ordered: when a man makes a vow to Adonai or formally obligates himself by swearing an oath, he is not to break his word but is to do everything he said he would do.'"Our portion this week brings insight in how and what we must focus on in this life by giving us an example of what not to do. The two tribes of Gad and Reuben focused on their riches and hence didn't cross over all the way. As Yeshua taught that if we gain the wghole world and lose our soul, then we are not worthy of following him. Just as these two tribes said, "Do not take us over this Jordan," many today follow that example and do not cross over, refusing to become part of Judah, and do not worship Elohim the way they are comfortable with and thereby do what is right in their own eyes. We are rather to wholly follow Hashem in order to be complete and whole. Ro'eh Richard brings us to Romans in conclusion and sheds light on what the "fullness of the gentiles" really means. This week our Haftorah teaching is delivered by Brother Mark from Jeremiah 1:1-2:3, and the New Covenant e-drash is delivered by Ro'eh Richard from James 4:1-12.Please join us each week as we dig deep into scripture to learn more about who our God is, and reveal the Messiah throughout the Old Testament.Ro'eh Richard CortesThe Foundation of The Word Outreach Ministries=www.thefoundationoftheword.orgAaronic Priestly Blessing performed by Rico Cortes of Wisdom In Torah Ministries https://wisdomintorah.com and used by permission.
