Listen Later

April stopped to share some words when she was on her way to a meeting with Minister of Environment Nikki Sharma to ask her to intervene so that the women being sentenced in Kamloops did not have to ride, handcuffed, in a seatbelt-less police wagon over the Coquihalla in February. Nikki Sharma cried when she heard April's story, and promised to do what she could. April was granted appeal and so was not transported to prison.
