Matt Perdue Elected as Youngest ND Farmers Union President

Listen Later

Matt Perdue, a 33-year-old farmer and advocate, has been elected as the new president of the North Dakota Farmers Union, making him the youngest leader in the organizations history. Perdue, who farms near Ray with his family, successfully ran against Shelley Ziesch and will now lead the states largest farm organization, which represents over 47,000 family members. He previously worked for the National Farmers Union and oversaw cooperative and adult education initiatives at the North Dakota Farmers Union. This leadership change comes after long-time president Mark Watne decided not to seek re-election.
