For the Third Sunday in Advent this episode looks at Matthew 11:2-11.
Some major themes are that John the Baptist was a great prophet despite his doubts while in prison. Also, we have a greater position in Christ than John had since we know the full gospel message, grace and the power of the Holy Spirit. We have greater access to God through Jesus.
We are not better than John but have a greater position, a great opportunity, since we come after the ministry of Jesus.
One theme I did not talk much about, that I would like to share here is that Jesus understands our honest doubts, just as he understood John. Let us remain faithful in our times of doubt and ask God for help in those times.
