Sunday, May 9, 2021. Matthew 15:1-9 | “Honor Your Father and Your Mother” [Mother's Day]. The command to “honor your father and your mother” is one of the oldest commandments in the Bible. So what does it mean to “honor” someone, especially our mothers? In this Mother’s Day sermon, we all learn from Jesus that honor involves more than speaking well about someone. Honor is an action that proceeds from the heart and will cost us something. Whatever is costly, is valuable, and God’s Word makes it clear that God values mothers.
