This sermon, based on Matthew 17:1-9, was preached at Grace of God Lutheran on February 15, 2026, the last Sunday before Lent will begin. We heard the traditional Gospel reading for this Sunday, the account of Jesus' Transfiguration, and considered how and why this event sends us into the Bible. Above all, what we see in the Transfiguration (and throughout the Bible) is God's promise that sinners are brought into his gracious presence.
