In Matthew 22, Jesus explains the Kingdom of God by telling as story of a king who gave his son a wedding banquet. Those invited didn't come. They paid no attention to the invitation and instead went away doing their own thing. The king extended the invitation to everyone. All who answered the invitation to join the King and His Kingdom were welcomed to the wedding feast. Everyone is invited to choose Jesus and humbly repent submitting to Him as Lord of all. Our response to His invitation reveals our hearts and determines our eternal destiny. Jesus explained that may are "called" but few are "chosen" which makes more sense when you look at the original Greek words. The Greek words declare many are "invited", but few "belong". If you don't answer "YES" to His invitation, you will not belong to His Kingdom. We can choose to go our own way and do our own thing, or we can choose to say "Yes" wholeheartedly to Jesus and go His way, His Word, and His will. The path we choose is up to us. If we choose Jesus, our lives will show it because we will continually fall more and more in love with Him as we pursue Him with all our guts, and we will love the people around us out of His great love for us.
