The word “Advent” means coming. In Advent, we prepare our hearts for two different “comings” of Jesus. We prepare to celebrate Jesus’ birth at Christmas, and we prepare for Jesus to come again on Judgment Day. So here’s the big question: “When? When is Jesus coming back? When will the world end?” Here’s what Jesus says: “No one knows.” The date of Jesus’ return is hidden from us, so that every day matters to us. When is the day to repent and believe in Jesus? Today! When is the day to be prepared for Jesus to come back and judge the living and the dead? Today!
