* vs 26 - the word “Gethsemane” means “oil press.”

* Olive oil is extremely valuable, but to get it olives have to be crushed.

* That’s not a fun process.

* Jesus took Peter, James, and John with Him - all three needed to be pressed!

* Gethsemane was also a garden where Jesus went to do battle.

* When God puts you in your Gethsemane stay there - you will see what’s inside you but you’ll also see transformation take place.

* vs 37 - Jesus didn’t try to go alone, nor should we.

* He went a little further, which shows us our conversations with God need to be alone.

* But for the fight Jesus brought His friends.

* vs 38 - He told them to “keep watch!”

* vs 39 - three step prayer:

* 1) Recognize - Jesus recognized God’s power.

* 2) Request - He asked God to take the cup from Him.

* 3) Release - He yielded his will to God’s.
