This week we turn our hearts to Joy. Not the shallow kind that fades with circumstances, but the deep, steady joy that comes from meeting Jesus.
In Matthew 2v1-12 the Magi traveled far, following a light in the sky with hope in their hearts. And when the star stopped over the place where Jesus was, Matthew tells us:
“They rejoiced with exceeding great joy.”
These wise men didn’t come empty-handed. Their gifts(gold, frankincense, and myrrh) were expressions of worship. But the greatest gift they brought was their joy-filled surrender to be laid at the feet of the newborn King.
