In Matthew 4, after Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, He entered the wilderness and fasted for forty days and nights. During this time, Jesus faced the temptations of the devil. The devil tempted Him to turn stones into bread, to test God's protection by throwing Himself off the temple, and offered Him authority over all kingdoms if Jesus would worship him. However, Jesus resisted all temptations by quoting scriptures, affirming His dedication to God's will and rejecting the devil's offers. Following this, Jesus began His ministry in Galilee, proclaiming the arrival of the kingdom of heaven and calling people to repentance. He gathered His disciples, performed miracles including healing the sick, and taught with authority in various places like Capernaum, fulfilling prophecies and demonstrating His divine role as the Messiah. Matthew 4 highlights Jesus' faithfulness in the face of temptation and introduces His ministry, emphasizing the fulfillment of Scriptures in His life and mission.
