The good life we pursue belongs to those who belong to the kingdom of God, not those who try hard or get lucky. And those who belong to the kingdom of God are those described in the beatitudes. We are, by God's grace, those described here in Matthew 5:1-12. We are "blessed" people. "Happy" people who both now have and will one day have everything Jesus came to bring us! Our pursuit of happiness both starts and ends with Jesus' pursuit of us.
