On Butterflies of Wisdom today, Best-Selling Author, Win C welcomes Matthew Johnson. Matthew is a singer/actor/dancer and voice teacher who has found passions in both performing on stage and working with the voice backstage. Beginning when he was in 6th grade, he has averaged roughly seven theater productions each year, in musicals, operas, and plays. Out of all of these credits, his favorites have been James and the Giant Peach (Ladahlord) and West Side Story (Glad Hand) with Summer Theatre of New Canaan, Little Night Music (Henrik), Macbeth (Ross), and I Pagliacci (Beppe) with Madison Lyric Stage, and Romeo and Juliet: In Verse and Song (Tybalt) with Opera Theatre of Connecticut. As a teacher, Matthew has worked with all ages and experience levels, ranging from first-time singers to Broadway talent. In his lessons, he strives to find the most confident and healthy voice, while encouraging the unique qualities of every performer. Proficient in teaching many styles, ranging from classical to rock to musical theater and beyond, students interested can get a taste of every style, increasing comfort zones and breaking down boundaries. In December of 2016, Matthew received his Teacher Training Certification through New York Vocal Coaching, a leading studio out of NYC, which taught vocal pedagogy, teaching techniques, and workings of the voice. He continues to make learning a daily habit, bringing the latest information, science, and ideas to his students for practical learning and oral health. As well as giving lessons in person, Matthew also teaches via Skype and Facetime! Interested in taking a lesson? Contact him above for availability and pricing. Enjoy your time with Vocalogical!
