Matthijs de Jongh has always been fascinated with creativity, looking to the advertising industry to serve this fascination. Starting a DDB, Matthijs understood that the strategy is where he can play the best role to support the creative process of telling a brands story to the audience.

Being one of the first employees at Kessel Kramer and quickly a partner, Matthijs is now a Strategic planner, having worked on the ground breaking clients like Ben, a new but small telecom player in The Netherlands that wanted to stand out. Recently he has worked with Timberland, finding a way to connect the brand to generation Z, and using modern data techniques to involve the public.

In this episode, Matthijs will go into detail about his work on Ben and Timberland, as well as many other stories during his time in the creative advertising world. We start the episode traditionally with a bottle of wine, Esporão Monte Velho from Portugal, a client of Kessels Kramer, and Matthijs explains why it’s important to always try the product you are creating for.
