Mature Medic Spotlight - Cat Oliver
This Mature Medic Spotlight, and the penultimate one of the first season, is with Cat. A first-year medical GEM student at the University of Nottingham!
Cat has a research background, completing a BSc in Biological and Medicine Sciences and an MRes in Translational Medicine. She has also worked as a Veterinary Pathologist assistant, a lab assistant and a festival worker!
We talk about the challenges of A-levels and how it is not always the best time to apply to medicine, how applying to UG and GEM courses compares, and the benefits of having a mixed cohort with a huge variety of experiences to bring to the sessions.
