Max Hammer @maxhammur delivers a tip-top recording for MIX035, a sun-drenched blend of boogie-disco juice that glides between eras and continents with real flair. No fancy flips, just straight-up entertaining grooves served as they were meant to be heard , and like the man himself, full of character.
Now based in Naarm/Melbourne, Max (a Glaswegian native) is the co-organiser of SANGAM, a fresh monthly celebration of sound, culture, and style that's hosted in some of the city’s most ridiculously cool and intimate venues. Influenced by early sound system sessions at The 78, late nights at Le Cheetah, and more, he brings with him a slice of Glasgow’s underground spirit.
This mix is steeped in that same energy...think off-peak mystical grooviness that feels both nostalgic and new. From the driving pulse of Tabou Combo’s “Let’s Do The Groove”, to the smoky uplift of Eloise Whitaker’s “I Will Fight”, Max digs with heart, jumping borders with ease.
