The Max Mara Art Prize for Women is the only visual art prize for UK-based women artists. Laura Smith, curator at Whitechapel Gallery and Emma Talbot, this year’s winner, talk firstly about the winning proposal which re-imagines Gustav Klimt’s ‘Three Ages of Woman’ from a feminist standpoint, and then about her CIRCA commission ‘Four Visions for a Hopeful Future’, short film animations screened on a four-nightly rolling schedule at Piccadilly Lights until the end of March 2021.
