The program gives users who have put plenty of mileage on their existing Aspen display an opportunity to get state-of-the art technology at a reasonable price-point.
“Let’s imagine you had an old Apple phone, and you just sent it back to Apple, and they would give you the brand-new X or whatever the latest model is for a third of the price of the latest model,” said Scott Smith, Aspen Director of Sales. “That’s exactly what we’re doing here.”
What is it that makes the new Pro MAX displays worth the upgrade? For one, they look great, with 16 million display colors.
“The very first thing you’re going to notice is how nice and clean the screen is,” Smith said. “The older screens were great, but when you get the new one, it’s like going from high def to a 4K image. It’s a beautiful screen.”
The improvements go beyond simply aesthetics, though. The new displays have GPS-aided AHRS in the event of a pitot-static failure, higher reliability and faster refresh rates than their predecessors, and an audio panel interface giving
Aspen recently received approval by the EASA, clearing the way for Europe-based users to utilize the new Pro MAX displays, which are also approved in Australia. With shipping times a concern for many international users, the company is doing only MAX exchanges to cut down on delays and expenses.
And with the units approved for installation in more than 600 aircraft types, they’re a solution that can work for nearly everyone.
