From a birds-eye view Maxwell is a little bit of a unicorn. A throwback from another era, or maybe helping usher in a new era that we desperately need. Maxwell is a rare breed of human - a musician who started his own funk/soul brass band, working on a farm growing micro-greens, and dedicating 7 years to serving the homeless population in his community. While he may creatively march to the beat of his own drum now, his personal journey has not been without pain and struggle. He met with heartbreak at an early age. We discuss grief, loss, boundaries, masculinity, relationships, connecting to ourselves and the land. We look at health & healing on multiple levels and take a deeper dive into self-care, trauma, homelessness, and “mental illness.” Stick around to the end for a special taste of Maxwell’s spoken word poetry lyrics.
