For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~Romans 8:38-39
This little verse is perhaps one of the most memorable and profound statements on the love of God ever written. We can be comforted how deep the love of God is. There is nothing that can keep us from it.
We see this love displayed especially on the cross when Christ died to cover the sins that separate us from God and draws us back to Him. He was not satisfied to leave us to wallow merely, but he died for us, we are raised in his resurrection, and now he sits on the right hand of God to advocate for us. Is there a deeper love than this?
We live in this confidence and hope. We can approach when it seems that we are completely alone, we can praise him, and we can cry with him. There is nothing dark, ugly, tempting, or terrible that can separate us from Him. It is, therefore, our call to repent, believe, rejoice, and follow.
