“She gave us life at the moment of our baptism. She teaches us. She gives us our identity in Christ. She nurtures that identity into maturity. She heals our wounds in confession and the sacrament of anointing. She counsels us in moments of great distress and fear. She feeds us at her table with word and with sacrament. She celebrates our milestones and accompanies us in our difficulties. And just as Mary did for her own son, the Church clothes us at our death and carries us to the tomb.”
