More than 100 thousand retired public employees in Indiana will receive an additional benefit this year known as the 13th check. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Brandon Smith reports lawmakers reduced the amount of that extra benefit by about five percent.
Indiana Humanities will receive more than 200 thousand dollars in emergency funds as part of a national response to the recent loss of federal support. Indiana Humanities was notified last month that its one-point-three million dollar federal grant, which made up 35 to 40 percent of the nonprofit’s budget, would be terminated.
