“The wise of heart is called discerning, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.” — Proverbs 16:21
“Having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.” — Ephesians 1:18

Have you ever wondered why wisdom is so important? Proverbs 16:21 shows us that being wise in heart leads to being persuasive and trustworthy. It’s not about being the loudest or most impressive—it’s about being discerning, knowing when to speak, and how to listen. We all have moments when we can speak wisely and bring peace into situations, and in doing so, we point others to Christ.
Then, in Ephesians 1:18, Paul prays that our hearts would be enlightened so that we can truly understand the hope of our calling in Christ. This is more than just head knowledge—it’s about knowing the riches of what it means to belong to God, and that knowledge should shape how we live and how we treat others. Wisdom comes from understanding our value in Christ, and it encourages us to use our words and actions to reflect His love.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for the wisdom You offer and for the incredible inheritance I have in You. Help me to speak wisely and live with a heart that is discerning. Open the eyes of my heart to fully understand the hope of Your calling and the purpose You’ve given me. May my life reflect Your love and wisdom in everything I do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
