Listen Later

11  There is much more we would like to say about this, but it is difficult to explain, especially since you are spiritually dull and don’t seem to listen. Hebrews 5:11
12  For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food. Hebrews 5:12
13  For everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a
child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment
trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. Hebrews 5:13-14
Spiritual Immaturity Is Dangerous
14 But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to
distinguish good from evil. Hebrews 5:14
Put Your Excuses to Death
22  Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22
Doing the Word Is Just As Important As Knowing the Word
22  But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only
fooling yourselves.  23  For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.  24  You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.  25  But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. James 1:22-25
23  For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a
mirror.  24  You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. James 1:23-24
25  But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. James 1:25
