SHOWNOTES
Another day where I concentrate on abortion though I promise to not do that for the next few days. I’m still more on process than my own views on abortion. For background, the Mississippi law seems to be exactly where the majority of Americans are and a tad more liberal than some European laws. The Mississippi law allows abortions in the first trimester but only in special circumstances thereafter. I also read that 91% of abortions occur in the first 13 weeks.
In thinking through this issue, I come to the conclusion that the left was idiotic in how they argued this case. They should have conceded allowing states to make some additional restrictions but argued for a limit somewhere around 12 weeks. They went for a scorched earth win and may get a scorched earth loss. I do think the Supreme Court is continuing to debate this subject and the outcome is not certain.
In Quick hitters we hit:
· Federal reserve interest rate increase.
· Japan increasing nuclear power
· Northern Ireland election may bring Sinn Fein to power.
· Russia has their May 9 Victory day and I worry what that may mena for Ukraine.
