Hour 1:
My first guest tonight is tearing up the BBQ competition scene grabbing his 3rd win in as many attempts this past weekend at the Sam’s Club local qualifier in St. Charles, MO. Tim Grant, pitmaster of TRUEBUD BBQ joins me to recap this past weekend and have a look back over the past few months of the competition season. TRUEBUD is currently ranked 2nd overall for the KCBS Team of the Year race, 8th in chicken, 6th in ribs, 3rd in pork and 4th in brisket.
In the 3rd segment, I will be joined by monthly guest Connie Rempe. Connie’s Recipe Corner is back and better than ever with a full 3 course menu for you to try this weekend. Everything suggested tonight is easy to cook and super delicious! Be sure to email to ask for your copy of this month’s recipes and reference the show date in the subject line.
Hour 2:
My guest in the 2nd hour is Chris Bohnemeier, co-pitmaster and owner of Code 3 Spices. Chris, along with his partner Mike Radosevich, cook competitively on the BBQ circuit and also sell their own line of rubs also named Code 3 Spices. What is unique about their effort, when compared to other rub makers, is that a portion of each sale is donated to an organization that supports our Police, Firefighter, Medical and Military personnel.
Closing out the show tonight is the BBQ Central Show’s official BBQ sauce and rub reviewer, Scott Roberts. Three new sauces and rubs hit the tasting table tonight and Scott will let you know if they are worth the buy or not.
