In this episode, Meghan and Colleen discuss Anne Hathaway, horse girls, and getting your boyfriend confused with your father while knitting them a gift…as well as the actual contents of The Secret of Shadow Ranch (1965)!
Notes: Colleen would like to apologize for their voice sounding rough due to a cold; Episode 6 will sound better! Also, to balance out this book’s appropriation of indigenous culture and dress, we’d like to recommend The Brave by James Bird, a great middle-grade novel that tackles such topics as OCD, indigenous heritage, and death, while also being incredibly well-written and downright hilarious at times. Also, Colleen would like it to be known that when George Fayne was first mentioned and described, Colleen’s partner burst out into a spontaneous rendition of Chappell Roan’s “The Giver.”
