Publisher's Summary:
At the age of 29, Hannah Martin has lived in six different cities and held countless meaningless jobs. On the heels of leaving yet another city, Hannah moves back to Los Angeles and takes up residence in her best friend Gabby's guestroom. Hannah goes out to a bar one night with Gabby and meets up with her high school boyfriend, Ethan. Just after midnight, Gabby asks Hannah if she's ready to go. A moment later, Ethan offers to give her a ride later if she wants to stay. Hannah hesitates. What happens if she leaves with Gabby? What happens if she leaves with Ethan? In concurrent storylines, Hannah lives out the effects of each decision. Quickly these parallel universes develop into radically different stories with large-scale consequences for Hannah as well as the people around her.

Kept waiting for it to get good... but gave up
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
this was described to me as the "Sliding Doors" (movies with Gwyneth Paltrow) of novels. Two alternative stories start to take place after the shallow, predictable characters are introduced. Neither one is very compelling or even interesting. After reading this skimming the of the surface of any potential story, halfway through the book, I gave up on it ever getting better. It's like half a soap opera without the drama. Very disappointing.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
I don't know or care what the ending was.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
Performance was mediocre.
What would have made this romance irresistible?
...an interesting story.
Any additional comments?
wish i could get that time and credit back.
This book went nowhere interesting
Honestly a waste of time and a book credit. I struggled to the end but only because I had nothing else downloaded to listen to and a long car trip ahead of me. Nothing interested about the plot other than the initial twist of two parallel lives. Flat, self absorbed characters who contribute nothing out of the ordinary. Don't bother.
If you've seen Sliding Doors, you've read this novel
The story is entertaining, but far from original. I was disappointed by that.
The reader was great. The friendship between two main characters convincing.
Loved the narration but not for me
I really loved the narrator which is why I purchased the book. But the story wasn't for me. It's a neat concept of two different storylines. However, I wasn't really a fan of the way it flopped back and forth.
It was well-written and I would probably listen to another book by the author, so long as it didn't flop back and forth.
Amazing story brought to life by a good narration
It was a gripping story and a true what's coming now sense gripped me through the entire narration. I wonder what does my parallel universe looks like .... Oops didn't mean to say that ;)
