It's easy to assume that God most reveals himself in successes and achievements, but when we read the sermon on the mount, we see a real challenge to this concept.
That passage suggests that God is most close to the people that suffer and go through hardship... if that's the case then we need to realise that, when we step in to love and support those people, we may be the link to them connecting with God.
