On July 23, Mazars hosted our first ever virtual Food and Beverage Forum. Our guest speakers, Marc Oshima, co-founder and CMO of AeroFarms and Lou Cooperhouse, CEO and president of BlueNalu, Inc discussed how food intersects with technology and how innovation will supplement our existing supply chain.
Lou discussed new frontiers in food tech, such as cellular agriculture and alternative forms of proteins. He has 35 years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry. He studied at Rutgers University and has worked with a number of large food and beverage companies such as Campbell’s Soup Company, Nestle, and ConAgra Foods.
Marc dove into the issues with traditional agriculture and how we need to be thinking about and implementing a new farming approach that considers all external factors and is more sustainable. Besides being the CMO of AeroFarms, he is involved with other organizations, such as being on the marketing advisory board for the Food Bank of NYC. He is also on the board of directors for the Produce Marketing Association and for a nonprofit called Chef’s Collaborative. More recently, he helped to create and is on the board for CEA (Controlled Environment Agriculture) Food Safety Coalition.
