MBB 93 Brian Lenzkes, MD: Life's Best Medicine

Dr. Brian Lenzkes is an internal medicine doctor based in San Diego, who has focused much of his attention on clinical nutrition. After owning a medical practice with a group of physicians from 2003-2020, he launched LowCarbMD San Diego, a metabolic health and direct primary care practice in the summer of 2020. Dr. Lenzkes is co-host and founder of the popular LowCarbMD podcast, which has been downloaded more than 3 million times, and he is a professional speaker. He also recently launched Life’s Best Medicine, a weekly podcast that shines a light on stories about real people and events that instill feelings of hope, faith and love.

Dr. Lenzkes has been voted one of the “Top Doctors” in San Diego for 11 years. Even after gaining the respect of the medical community and his patients, Dr. Lenzkes felt a void as many patients with chronic conditions became more sick and required more medications. At the same time Dr. Lenzkes battled his own weight gain while following ‘standard medical advice’. After attending a LowCarbUSA ® conference in San Diego a few years ago, his practice of medicine changed, and he took control of his own health. Dr. Lenzkes has appeared on many podcasts and has been a speaker on the Nutrition Network educational series for medical professionals. He is also on the panel of advisers for the LowCarbUSA ® Clinical Guidelines for Medical Professionals and was featured in the documentary “Fat Fiction” produced by Wide Eye Productions. He is also the Medical Director for TriSystem Nutrition.
