On today's podcast we're breaking down the 2019 film Parasite, directed by Bong Joon-Ho. Parasite is the first Korean film to receive Academy Award recognition and the first non-english language film to win the Oscar for best picture. The film follows the Kim's, a poor family living in Seoul Korea who all coerce their way into finding employment with the wealthier Park family. Parasite highlights the class divide between the rich and the poor, showing the pain of poor families trying to survive while the wealthy live in luxury.
