“God’s Judgment on Babylon the Great”

1. Declaration of the fall of Babylon (Rev. 18:1-3)

* Revelation 18:1 “splendor” = Shekinah glory

* Exodus 34:29 “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.” (NIV)

* Revelation 18:2 “shouted” = declared

* Revelation 18:3 “adulteries” = idol worship

2. Command to escape from Babylon the Great (Rev. 18:4-5)

* Revelation 18:4 “my people.” = the saints

3. The condemnation of the sin of Babylon the Great (Rev.6-8)

* Isaiah 47:8 “…I am, and there is none besides me...” = “It is only me and there is no other”

* Isaiah 46:9 “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me.” (NIV)
