“I Am Coming Soon”

1. The urgency of the second coming (Rev. 22:7)

* Revelation 22:7 “soon” = tachéos = “suddenly” “at an unexpected time” “at an unforeseen time”

* Revelation 22:7 “keeps” = “mindful of and on the lookout for”

2. Worship by John (Rev. 22:8-9)

3. Proclaim the words of the prophecy of this scroll (Rev. 22:10)

* Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.” (NIV)

4. The certainty of rewards from Christ (Rev. 22:12)

5. The eternal Jesus Christ (Rev. 22:13-16)

* Revelation 22:15 “dogs” = People who can’t understand God’s holiness & oppose or blaspheme Him

* Revelation 22:16 “the Root and the Offspring of David” = Persons in the family lineage of David

* Revelation 22:16 “the bright Morning Star” (Numbers 24:17) Title of the Messiah

6. The invitation from the Spirit and the bride (Rev. 22:17)

* Revelation 22:15 “Come!” = a command to come

* 1 Timothy 2:4 “God, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” (NIV)

* 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (NIV)

7. The final warning (Rev. 22:18-20)

* Revelation 22:15 “Come” = in Aramaic = Maranatha
