“Remembering the Grace of the Sacrament”

1. The content of the Passover meal
* All of the cuisine aligned on the table for the Passover meal were items to remember leaving Egypt
(1) Seedless bread (matzah)
(2) Karpas (vegetables such as parsley, celery, etc.)
(3) Maror (bitter vegetables)
(4) Wine
(5) Charoset (item containing nuts, honey, and apple)
(6) Roast lamb
* Messiah represented in the Afikomen ritual
2. The new covenant through Jesus
* Mark 14:22 (See above)
* The image of Christ is also shown in seedless bread (matzah)
* Mark 14:23 & 24 (See above)
* There were 4 cups for the Passover
* (1) The cup of gratitude, (2) The cup of judgment, (3) The cup of atonement, (4) The cup of praise
3. The meaning of eating and drinking
* Gospel singer George Beverly Shea’s composed song, “I’d Rather Have Jesus”
