1. The two individuals

* John 19:31 “Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.” (NIV)
* What generally happened to the bodies of prisoners on death row (Valley of Hinnom)
* The two individuals who took action: Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus
2. Why were they changed?
* Nicodemus’ conviction
* John 3:14-15 “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.” (NIV)
* Joseph of Arimathea’s conviction
3. Standing up in God’s timing
* The confession of a Girl in the Korean War in 1950
* 1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.” (NIV)

1. Reflect on the two individuals. What was the common point of both of them?
2. Why were the two individuals able to publicly profess their faith?
