* A “test” is an expression used only for the people of God (believers), and not for people of other religions (non-believers)
* Genesis 22:1 “Here I am.” = Hineni (in Hebrew) in emphatic form

* Hebrews 11:17 “By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice. He who had embraced the promises was about to sacrifice his one and only son.” (NIV)
* Hebrews 11:19 “Abraham reasoned that God could even raise the dead, and so in a manner of speaking he did receive Isaac back from death.” (NIV)
* John 8:56 “Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.” (NIV)
