“Abraham’s Faithful Servant”

1. The covenant between Abraham and his servant
(1) He had to find a wife for Isaac amongst the daughters of the Canaanites presently living there
(2) He was to go to his own family and select from amongst them
2. The servant’s trip and prayer
* Genesis 24:10 “Aram Naharaim” = the Hebrew name for “Mesopotamia”
* Genesis 24:26, 48, 52 “bowed down” (“Barah” in Hebrew)
(1) People bow down to God
(2) God blesses people
3. Rebekah comes on the scene
* Hebrews 1:14 “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (NIV)
