Jacob’s goal was to run fast enough to escape consequences. Instead of finding escape, he discovers God’s presence is still with him, and exclaims, "Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it." The blessing isn’t in the escape, it’s in realizing no one is ever truly alone.
