During the COVID-19 pandemic, rapid changes were needed to support fluctuating patient care needs, such as conversion of patient care units to COVID-19 care areas, transformation of level of care (e.g., general floors becoming intensive care units (ICUs)), and modifications to patient populations on units (e.g., pediatric units supporting adult patients).
