MDM #EP11: CULTURE CLASH? TEACHING MATHS IN SCHOOL, LISTENING TO GRIME IN THE CARPARK FT SANDHU WRITES (AND A LIVE PERFORMANCE!)
In this episode, we welcome Jay Sandhu. Identifying as Asian British, Jay gives us an insight into his experiences of growing up in between two contrasting cultures, and how his love for Hip Hop and Grime came with a lot of misjudgements when becoming a Maths Teacher. Jay is a cool guy! Not only is he an ex-maths teacher grime enthusiast, but a poet/spoken word, aspiring rapper, comedian, mental health support worker, comic book hoarder and a plant collector! He is one to look out for in Nottingham with his comedic yet critical social commentary. HE ALSO PERFORMS A SPOKEN WORD PIECE LIVE!!!!

The name Modern Day Mullatos is a modern twist on the offensive noun 'mulatto' meaning a person of mixed white and black ancestry, especially a person with one white and one black parent.We changed the spelling to reclaim and redefine the word for our own.
