In this episode we critically discuss the history of policing (UK & USA) and its aims. We look into the debate of community action and defunding the police, and discuss whether reform is possible. We also look at representation, racial bias, and denial of institutional racism in the criminal justice system. In this episode we also have our first special guest, thank you Rosie!  

 In partnership with FYA, the Modern Day Mullatos are a group of 3 diverse mixed race young adults from across the UK, discussing racial and social issues, intersectionalities, and progressive politics. The aim of this series is to educate, inform, spread awareness, open up discussions, and stimulate change. Please let us know if there is anything you would like us to discuss in the future. 

The name Moden Day Mullatos is a modern twist on the offensive noun 'mulatto' meaning a person of mixed white and black ancestry, especially a person with one white and one black parent.We changed the spelling to reclaim and redefine the word for our own.
