Welcome back for another episode of MDTribe ! This week we have Virginia Vanegas who is a first year dental student at Roseman University! Virginia is a long time friend from Miami, Florida and was the Captain of my cheerleading team at Miami Sunset Senior High. She completed her undergraduate degree at FIU and went onto pursue her Masters at Barry University. She shares her Nicaraguan background and why she decided to pursue dentistry despite numerous medical physicians in her family. She gives us insight to her experience applying to dental school and how her non-traditional journey worked out for the best, especially as young mother! Virginia was accepted to 4 dental schools and highlights that no matter what you can accomplish whatever you set your mind on!! I am grateful to share Virginia's story to show that there are so many medical careers available for you to pursue and how unique everyone's journey is.
