Sermon Notes
Romans 7:18-23 NLT
Self-sabotage is the self-destructive decision-making process where a person is being influenced by their flesh to
make choices that are against their own best interest and well-being.
The Flesh is a way of thinking that goes against the Word of God and waits for opportunities to influence your
perception and your decision-making and persuade you against the will of God.
Recovering from Self-Sabotage:
Luke 15:11-13, 15-24 TPT
1 John 1:8-10 TPT
Psalm 32:5 NLT
Psalm 51:7-13 NLT
Self-Sabotage recovery lessons from The Prodigal Son:
He came to himself.
He was honest with himself about his fallen state and realized the error of his poor, rebellious choice. He made the choice to leave too soon.
He said to himself.
He had a conversation with himself and expressed his conviction to repent and change.
He settled himself.
He was realistic and understood the possible discomfort of the recovery process, and he was willing to persevere through it because he understood it was necessary.
He presented himself.
He did more than just think about recovering; he followed through concerning his repentance with a face-to-face meeting with his father
