During a 5-mile run on the Mountain of Joy, I encountered several hikers and dogs, which made the trail feel more social than usual. I reflected on my past ultra-marathon experiences, discussing the psychological and physiological benefits of starting races at a slower pace. I also shared tips on managing energy levels during long runs and the importance of pacing. Despite a slower-than-usual pace, I enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and took a few photographs along the way. The run ended with a sense of accomplishment, noting that even after 10 days without alcohol, I wasn't feeling much fitter but was still content with my progress.
