Episode 30.
We welcome our good friend, Meagan Brown aka "Brownie" back onto the show to hear the inside scoop on her first 100 mile run at none other than one of the most iconic ultra runs in the world - the Western States Endurance Run. If you didn't listen to her on Episode 21, make sure you revisit that one too!
We're so grateful to Meagan for sharing the laughs and the huge highs and lows of this enormous undertaking. We talk training and preparation; the race experience surrounded by legends of the sport; eating rice balls made by Scott Jurek (who apparently also has lovely hair) and the wild hallucinations, including thinking a tree was her husband and pacer, Sammy... spoiler alert.
Meagan also shares the importance of crew (shout out Jemma, Hilly and Sammy); community and why going longer might not always be better in the endurance world.
We're super proud of you Brownie. Thanks for so honestly sharing your incredible journey with us.
We can't wait to see that wild wee picture... Meagan's Instagram handle is @megatron_brown
Also, for all of the niche Nessie fans, Ness has a few things to say on this one but she does quieten down...
Thanks again to all of our listeners and our incredible Patreon patrons who help us keep the lights on. If you're keen to support us please check out www.patreon.com/intotheweehourspodcast Thank you!
