Meaning of Teshuva | Breaking the barriers

The sins of a person (so to speak) are barriers that cover his pure soul and block the light of his soul from radiating at its fullest capacity. The more one sins the more layers (Klipot) are formed creating a sort of barrier from him and Hashem. The meaning and purpose of Teshuva is to work on removing the barriers that we created by way of sin. As we repent and change our ways the husks fall away and we bring Hashem back into our lives.
