A democracy cannot function without reliable information. The goal of high-quality journalism is to establish the facts and share them as widely as possible. However, politicians would love a world without reporters, so they can decide what information "you" get from them. Media bias is embedded in our culture and society. We need to be more aware of these biases, to decide for ourselves when news stories are based on facts and truth rather than lies. Knowledge is power.
