Ted Turner, founder of CNN and pioneering media mogul, has died at age 87. Born in 1938, he transformed his father's billboard company into a media empire, launching America's first satellite-based superstation and the 24-hour Cable News Network in 1970. Turner was also a sailing champion who won the America's Cup, donated a billion dollars to the United Nations over 10 years, and was married to actress Jane Fonda for 10 years before their divorce in 2001.
